Life after child abduction, one New Jersey father's story, Part II

In our last post, we discussed a child abduction story involving a New Jersey father and the removal of his son to Brazil. The father and son were reunited 16 months ago. The father is very thankful, and reports that their life is simply ordinary now, but he is not complaining. Not after the ordeal he has been through.

Unfortunately the custody dispute is not over. The boy's maternal grandmother and the mother's new husband continue to file motions to overturn the custody award and to return the boy to Brazil.

The following story is unfortunately becoming a familiar tale of an international tug-of-war for child custody. It is a story that relays the struggle that one New Jersey father endured for five years after the boy's mother abducted their son to Brazil, and the ongoing saga that he must continue to face.

This story began in 1999, when the father met and married a beautiful Brazilian fashion student in Italy. The couple moved to New Jersey, and one year later their son was born.

Their life seemed happy for the next four years, until something changed in June 2004.
