Group of ex-wives allege New Jersey judge is biased

A group of New Jersey women have banded together to take on a Monmouth County family court judge, who they claim favored their wealthy and sometimes criminal ex-husbands in their divorce cases. One 42-year-old woman alleges that the judge awarded her ex-husband custody of their three children even after he confessed to involvement in a mob-related murder in the 1990s.

The five women have written to the New Jersey governor and other lawmakers in effort to get the judge, who they claim has a vendetta against the opposite sex, removed from the bench. In a letter to the governor, one of the women said she "no longer believe[s]" in the fairness of the state's legal system because of how the judge handled her divorce case.

Family law judge accused of domestic violence

Any kind of charges involving allegations of violence should be taken very seriously. For some people in New Jersey, the repercussions can include fines or jail time. If people are involved child custody disputes, allegations can tip the scales in favor of the other parent. For some people, allegations of domestic violence can even put a person's career in jeopardy.

Recently, one county court family law judge learned this first-hand when he was, at the very least, temporarily banned from ruling on child abuse cases. Why? Because he too was accused of abusing his 16-year-old daughter.
